Aja Johnson, a sophomore at Sherman Oaks Notre Dame High in California, won the girls shot put with a lifetime-best effort of 46-10 (14.27m) in the fifth round at the CIF-Southern Section Masters meet at Moorpark High. Johnson also took third in the discus throw with a sixth-round performance of 143-10 (43.85m), as she and senior teammate April Fontenette each qualified for both events at the state meet May 26-27.
