Some of the biggest names in track and field head for Jamaica in May. Its shaping up to be another exciting instalment of the IAAF World Challenge certified Jamaica International Invitational, with a host of heavyweights already confirmed for the meet, set for May 9 inside the National Stadium.

In the male sprints, former 100m world record holder Asafa Powell is expected to face off with his American nemesis Justin Gatlin in the 100m with Nesta Carter also confirmed for the meet.

Perhaps the biggest draw so far on the male side is Grenadian Olympic champion Kirani James, the sixth fastest man in the history of the 400m.

James who has a personal best of 43.74, which he registered last season in Lausanne, is considered to be the best in the event along with American LaShawn Merritt. This will be his first time competing in Jamaica.
