Menlo School won its first CIF Central Coast Section girls team title with 53 points at Gilroy High in Gilroy, Calif., led by juniors Charlotte Tomkinson and Kyra Pretre. Tomkinson and Pretre took first and second in the 800 meters in 2:13.69 and 2:15.16, with Pretre capturing the 1,600 meters in 5:01.58. Tomkinson also placed third in the 400 meters in 57.35 and joined forces with Pretre to help Menlo place second in the 4x400-meter relay in a season-best 3:56.74.
