Menlo School CA seniors Charlotte Tomkinson and Kyra Pretre placed second and sixth in their 2.93-mile varsity race at the 47th Lowell Invitational at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, Calif. Tomkinson clocked 16:42.40, the No. 3 all-time meet performance, and Pretre ran 16:58.01 to help Menlo become the first school in meet history to have a pair of athletes both run under 17 minutes in the same year. Tomkinson and Pretre helped Menlo prevail over Palo Alto CA by a 58-92 margin, in addition to the Knights running 86:45 as a team, improving from 94:13 when they placed third last season.
